Patients with severe attention disorders often have difficulties to concentrate on the training for 30 minutes. These users should use HeadApp several times a day for 10-15 minutes.
The monitor should be large enough in order to enable patients with problems of the visual function and in the field of vision to clearly see and recognize the images. Especially for patients with neglect and hemianopsia, a monitor equal to, or greater than, a 19” screen diagonal is recommended.
We recommend a touchscreen to operate HeadApp. Patients who are not able to use a mouse or a touchscreen (e.g. due to immobility/ weakness of the arms) can also use a keyboard.
The following keys can be used:
– arrow keys: to select objects
– spacebar or Enter/Return: to confirm the choice
– minus key (-): to access the break function
– plus key (+): to repeat the audio output or (in some modules) to use the zoom-feature
If you have the RehaCom® patient keyboard, it can also be used to operate HeadApp.
1.) Delete the patient from your patient list. Then your license will be free immediately and the patient can purchase their own license at home.
or
2.) Activate an empty therapy plan via the “Use plan” checkbox. Then the patient can no longer start training.
Depending on the module, up to 40MB of data volume are needed for one therapy unit (by default 30 min). Especially when using HeadApp on mobile devices, your provider might charge additional costs for mobile data.
Our advice: Costs for mobile data can be completely avoided when using HeadApp only in WLAN environment.
If the same Google Play Store / Apple App Store account is used on all tablet PCs, HeadApp Professional can be bought on one tablet PC and later be installed free of charge on all others.
We recommend that patients get the HeadApp Home version.
The first advantage: although the patient is training with HeadApp Home at home, the therapist is able to view all data and results in his/her office.
The second advantage: patients that have bought HeadApp Home are not included in the counting of “10 patients simultaneously for 12$ per month”.

HeadApp automatically adjusts to any horizontal resolution, 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10.
More details about the different operating systems can be found on the pages Voice output and Start training.
It is necessary for the client to enter an own email address and password when he/she has to log in independently or when the client is training at home (with HeadApp Home).
In this case, each client needs an own email address. Only separate logins (email addresses) allow a correct allocation of therapy processes and results to clients.

But this is actually not necessary. If a therapist logs into the Home version, the program automatically becomes the Professional version. And vice versa: The therapist version also automatically becomes the home version when a patient logs in.
